Round 10 Review – NPL Men’s NSW

Let’s take a look back at all the action from Round 10 of the National Premier Leagues NSW competition.
Sutherland Sharks 3 v Rockdale Ilinden 1 @ Seymour Shaw – Full Match Report and Highlights
Sutherland Sharks secured a clinical 3–1 victory over Rockdale Ilinden at Seymour Shaw Park, making it three wins in a row in Round 10 despite being under early pressure from the visitors.
Nick Olsen opened the scoring against the run of play before Jamie Percevski headed home a second, with the striker later adding his brace to seal the result after Mohamed Adam briefly brought Rockdale back into the contest late on.
While Rockdale created the better chances for large periods and tested Danijel Nizic throughout, they were left to rue missed opportunities as Sutherland’s efficiency in front of goal proved the difference in a physical, hard-fought Shire/St George derby.
Sydney Olympic 0 v Manly United 1 @ Belmore Sports Ground – Full Match Report and Highlights
Manly United claimed a vital 1–0 win over Sydney Olympic at Belmore Sports Ground, ending an eight-game winless run and boosting their push away from the bottom half, while deepening Olympic’s struggles at the foot of the ladder.
In a tense, low-chance contest, Manly looked the more dangerous without breaking through early, and after Olympic came closest through Marco Arambasic’s header off the post in the 79th minute, the visitors made them pay—Stephen de Robillard finishing from close range in the 83rd minute after good work from Ayumu Kimura.
Manly held firm defensively to secure a hard-earned three points, easing pressure on their campaign while Olympic were left to rue another missed opportunity.
UNSW FC 1 v APIA 1 @ The Village Green – Full Match Report and Highlights
UNSW FC earned a hard-fought 1–1 draw against defending champions APIA Leichhardt FC at The Village Green, showing resilience to claim a valuable point despite finishing with ten men.
APIA dominated early and took the lead through Presley Ortiz in the 5th minute, creating several chances to extend their advantage but failing to capitalise.
UNSW gradually grew into the contest and made their moment count in the 71st minute, with Nathan Roberts finishing a well-worked move to equalise. Reduced to ten men late after Lachlan Campbell’s dismissal, UNSW held firm under pressure as APIA pushed for a winner, but the visitors were left to rue missed chances in an absorbing and evenly fought contest.
Marconi 6 v SD Raiders 1 @ Marconi Stadium – Full Match Report and Highlights
Marconi Stallions produced a clinical attacking display to defeat newly promoted SD Raiders 6–1 at The Palace, with Damian Tsekenis netting a hat-trick and Jack Armson adding a brace in a dominant yet hard-fought contest.
The hosts struck after just 20 seconds through Armson and doubled their lead before halftime via Tsekenis, before a frantic second-half burst—including three goals in quick succession—put the result beyond doubt despite a brief Raiders response through Luka Knezevic.
Sunday Yona added further gloss late on, while Tsekenis completed his treble after capitalising on a goalkeeping error, as Marconi’s efficiency in front of goal proved the key difference in a match where the visitors showed patches of resilience despite the heavy scoreline.
Sydney FC 4 v St George FC 2 @ Ilinden Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights
Sydney FC produced a dominant attacking display to defeat St George FC 4–2, controlling the match from the outset and taking a 3–0 lead into half-time before sealing the result early in the second half.
The Sky Blues struck through a mix of set-piece quality and clinical finishing to put the game beyond reach, with a fourth goal further underlining their superiority.
St George FC responded late with two consolation goals and briefly threatened a comeback, but Sydney FC’s early control and attacking efficiency proved decisive as they secured a convincing victory.
WSW 1 v NWS Spirit FC 1 @ Wanderers Football Park – Full Match Report and Highlights
The Western Sydney Wanderers and NWS Spirit played out a tense 1–1 draw in the NPL Men’s NSW Match of the Round, with both goals coming late in the contest.
The Wanderers, energised by key returns and a strong pressing game, created the better chances and finally broke through when Alaat Abdul-Rahman finished from close range after sustained pressure.
However, Spirit responded inside the final ten minutes, with Riku Kobayashi capitalising on a defensive scramble to level the scores. Despite late pushes from both sides, neither could find a winner, leaving the Wanderers to rue missed chances while Spirit settled for a hard-earned point.
Blacktown City 1 v Wollongong Wolves 3 @ Landen Stadium – Full Match Report and Highlights
Wollongong Wolves claimed a crucial 3–1 win over Blacktown City at Landen Stadium, scoring twice late to secure all three points and move into the top six, while leaving their opponents stuck near the bottom of the ladder.
In a closely fought contest, Lachlan Scott gave the visitors the lead just before halftime, but Riley Nolan responded almost immediately to level the scores. With the match evenly poised deep into the second half, Scott struck again in the 79th minute before substitute Felipe D’Agostini added a third moments later to seal the result.
Despite Blacktown’s strong early showing and continued pressure throughout, Wollongong’s clinical finishing in the closing stages proved the difference in a game that had been finely balanced for long periods.
Sydney United 58 0 v St George City 0 @ Sydney United Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights
Sydney United 58’s push for a tenth straight win was halted in a tense 0–0 draw with St George City at Sydney United Sports Centre, as the visitors’ disciplined defence frustrated the hosts throughout.
United dominated possession and created the better chances, particularly in the first half, but struggled to break down a compact City side.
The second half opened up with both teams trading opportunities, yet wasteful finishing and strong defensive work at both ends kept the scores level. United thought they had found a late winner, only for an offside call to deny them, before City held firm in the closing stages to secure a hard-earned point and end the hosts’ winning run.
